Again, herdsmen slaughter 7 in Benue church

Suspected herdsmen have gone on rampage again in Benue, killing at least seven persons in a church early Thursday morning.

The herdsmen were said to have invaded a church in Logo Local Government Area of the state to kill some displaced persons who had taken refuge at an African Church in the area. Many houses were also reportedly set ablaze.

The attack is reminiscent of the recent killing of two priests and 17 worshippers by the rampaging herdsmen in the state.

President Buhari has yet to find lasting solution to the herdsmen killings in the country.

The Nigerian Senate, on Wednesday, invited Buhari, as well as the Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris, to explain the steps being taken to put an end to the indiscriminate killings.

Neither Buhari nor Idris has honoured the lawmakers’ call as they’ve been away in Bauchi.
