African mentality? Zambia minister kneels before “Almighty” President Lungu
March 21, 2017
Here’s a photo Zambian Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Michael Katambo, kneeling as he “received instruction” from President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
Lungu seemed to be scolding Katambo, a man he appointed minister last September.
The Zambian Presidency may have leaked the image to embarrass Katambo but the world is laughing at the men in the now viral photo.
Fikile Mbalula, South African minister of sports, taunted them on Twitter.
“Zambia’s president holding discussions with his livestock minister. No seat for him, not even kneeling,” Mbalula wrote.
Some say the incident is an example of “African mentality” whereby those in power unapologetically lord it over their subordinates.
