The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke the winner of the 2026 governorship election, securing a second term in office.
Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who recorded 444,815 votes.
The result places Adeleke ahead by 66,252 votes.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, announced the final results on Sunday after the completion of collation from all 30 local government areas in Osun State.
African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salaam finished third in the contest with 17,180 votes.
The declaration brings the closely contested governorship election to a conclusion and confirms Adeleke’s re-election for a second term.
