Adeboye places deadly curse on “those destroying the naira”
Those who are deliberately destroying the Naira will make the money but will not spend it.
General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, reportedly made this comment during a special Sunday service organized by RCCG Region 11, Ikoyi/Victoria Island Family, at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Onikan, Lagos.
The naira has been performing badly against other currencies since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office in 2015.
The currency was worst hit in 2016 which saw $1 dollar going as high has N500 at the parallel market. It traded N405 to the dollar as at the time of publishing this post.
The exchange rate affected businesses that rely on importing machinery or other materials. It is also partly responsible for the high cost of phones, laptops and other imported goods in the country.
As Nigerians complained about the exchange rate, some people close to the seat of power were allegedly getting forex subsidies that allowed them make billions simply by buying and reselling dollars.
