A man claiming to be cousin to Eunice Elisha, the Nigerian Christian preacher killed in Abuja, has protested in Ibadan, Oyo State.
“Join me as am going to protest my sister’s death in Ibadan by 11am today (sic),” Emmanuel Apata wrote on Facebook early Monday.
Eunice Elisha was killed while preaching on Saturday morning.
Police say six suspects have been arrested in connection to her killing.
Dolapo, wife of Nigeria’s VP Yemi Oshinbajo visited the Elisha’s on Sunday. The family members attend the same church as the VP: the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
The images Apata shared afterwards showed no one joined in the protest.
But Apata wasn’t fazed. He showed up at NTA, Ibadan, bearing a banner containing the messages he wanted the world to see.
His messages read:
“My cousin murdered by northern extremists. Deaconess Eunice Mojisola Olawale. Religion intolerance in northern Nigeria. Stop killing Yoruba citizens. Our co-existence is negotiable. We want referendum. Governors and Yoruba leaders, do something now (sic).”
