Abia State: Four arrested for allegedly raping NYSC members and market women

Four alleged molesters of helpless female corps members have been arrested by operatives of the anti-kidnapping section of the Abia State Intelligence Department in Umuahia.
The suspects; Ifeagwu Kalu, also known as Eskimo, 34; Nkeiru John Iwuoha, also known as Damage, 40; Chukwu Ogbonnaya, 26; and Onyebuchi Kalu, 24 have been accused of raping some village market women and some National Youth Service Corps member in the community.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade, said the women of the affected community had some weeks ago, protested the devilish activities of suspected rapists at Elughu Nkporo in Ohafia Local Government Area and its environs.
Oyebade said, “Some of the raped victims has identified the suspects in custody and the suspects have also confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.”
He urged members of the public with vital information on the criminals to the police, with an assurance of “absolute” confidentiality in the reports submitted.
