Abia APC Chairman abducted by gunmen regains freedom

The All Progressive Congress Chairman in Abia state, Donatus Nwamkpa who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on his way to Aba some hours to President Buhari’s rallly in the city has been released.

The party chieftain who was abducted on Monday night alongside his aide was reportedly freed without any ransom on Thursday night.

APC Publicity secretary in the state, Godson Benedict confirmed his release and thanked everyone who offered assistance in ensuring that he was safely released.

“We thank God for his safe return and we appreciate all those who, in one way or the other, contributed to his safe return. We also want to thank our governorship candidate and other leaders of the party in the state for standing with us since he was kidnapped,” he said.

The Abia State Commissioner of police, Chris Ezike confirmed his release, adding that he was unharmed and in good health condition.
