Some migrant families have been offered a chance to stay at an Austrian home where a man took her daughter hostage and raped her for 24 years.

Josef Fritzl, now 80, held daughter Elisabeth hostage in a homemade dungeon and abused her till she was almost middle-aged.

Migrants are now being told to stay in the Amstetten”house of horror” where the atrocities were committed.

The Fritzl case emerged in 2008 when 42-year-old Elisabeth told the police she had been held captive and raped by her father.

The abuse resulted in the birth of seven children and one miscarriage.

Four of the children joined their mother in captivity, and three were raised by Josef and his wife Rosemarie.

Joseph, then 73, was jailed for life in 2009.

The house in which he committed the horrendous crime has been on sale for some time but had no offers.

Austrians are apparently afraid of being haunted by the horror that went down there.

Rather than let the “house of horror” go to waste, officials are planning to house migrants in its haunted chambers.

“We are getting a container here which will offer 150 beds for asylum seekers,” a local official told the media.

“By doing so, we will have fulfilled our quota.”
