25-year-old clubs father to death, says it was “self-defence”
The young man who is in police custody said he was provoked and never set out to kill his father.
Mfreke Archibong Effiong said he returned home from farm on Monday and met his father beating the mother.
He said his father then attacked him with a broken bottle while his mother was trying to explain what happened.
He admitted he hit his father with a stick on his right arm as he defended himself.
But Akwa-Ibom Police Public Relations Officer, Delia Nwawe said the suspect hit his father with a big stick on the head.
