24 hours after receiving N421million, Ikoyi cash whistleblower flies out of Nigeria
The lawyer to the informant, Yakubu Galadima confirmed the development to newsmen, praising the government for finally honouring its agreement after eight months.
According to the Lawyer ” there were many tax deductions but I can confirm now that he has received some money.
The whistle-blower helped the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, recover the $43m, N23 .2 m and £ 27,800 (N13 bn) from an Ikoyi apartment on April 12, 2017; the whistle-blower travelled out of the country less than 24 hours after receiving part of the N421m reward.
The lawyer also joked that his client did not run mad after receiving the money as predicted by some government officials.
He disclosed further that the Federal Government had promised to pay him the balance next year.
