2019 Election: Gbenga Daniel pays courtesy visit to Aare Gani Adams, seeks support for Atiku

Former Ogun governor, Gbenga Daniel led a group of delegates to visit Gani Adams, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land, at his Omole Phase II, Lagos residence on Saturday.

Daniel currently serves as the Director-General of the Atiku Campaign Organisation and his courtesy visit to Adams is believed to be related to the forthcoming presidential election in the country.

As the race to win Nigerians’ hearts for votes in the February poll picks up, politicians are lobbying for support of influential persons across the country.

Adams, formerly a controversial leader of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC), is regarded as having influence in some South-Western states. He became the 15th warlord for the Yorubas earlier in the year.

Atiku will be seeking to gain sizeable endorsement in the region President Muhammadu Buhari dominated in the 2015 poll against Goodluck Jonathan.
