20-year-old bags 6-month-jail term for stealing N15,000 mobile phone

Lucky Ogbebor will spend the next six months of his life in prison after a Magistrate court in Edo state found him guilty of theft.
Lucky stole a Nokia X2 mobile phone valued at N15,000 at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, police prosecutor, Sergeant Sunday Lucky told the court.
According to the sergeant, the offence is punishable under section 390 (9) of the criminal Code Cap. 48 Vol. ll laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria 1976 as applicable in Edo.
Although Ogbegor pleaded not guilty to the charge, Chief Magistrate Esohe Ighodan found him guilty and sentenced him to six months imprisonment without an option of fine, The Nation reports.
