A total of 155 out of 230 Nigerians who became stranded in Russia after the World Cup returned to the country Friday night.
The Ethiopian Airline that flew them in arrived Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja at about 9.12 p.m.
Among the returnees was a nursing mother in her mid thirties, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, was at the airport to monitor their arrival.
Many of the returnees had become stranded after their travel agents allegedly cancelled their return tickets without their knowledge.
One of the returnees, Bamidele Fatai thanked President Buhari for making their journey back home possible. He also thanked the Nigerian Mission in Moscow for giving them necessary support.
