13 people killed, 24 in road accidents over the weekend

Two people were killed in an auto crash along Ketu axis of Ikorodu Road on Tuesday.

At least 13 people were killed in road crashes across the country over the weekend.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, no fewer than 24 persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accidents.

At Itose village in Moniya, along the Ibadan-Oyo route, a commuter bus fell into a ditch after the driver ran into a pothole and lost control.

Ten persons, including two children, were killed while nine others were injured.

The victims of the accident were taken to Akinlolu & St. Patrick hospital and Adeoyo Hospital Mortuary, Ibadan.

A Honda Accord ran into a Toyota Cabster at Adeyoba filling station in Ilesa.

Four men were injured in that incident. The victims were taken to the Olujobi clinic.

Another five people were injured in a lone crash involving a Volkswagen along Akure-Ipetu route.

The victims of the accident were taken to General hospital, Igbara-Oke

An additional three persons were killed at Ajue along Ore-Ondo road in a crash involving a Toyota picnic and a Mitsubishi Dyna.

Six other persons were injured.

The crash happened around 11:00am, along Ore-Ondo route at Ajue axis, a statement from the Federal Road Safety Commission said.

The victims were taken to general hospital and Mortuary , Ore.
