“We will chase away oil companies in our land” – Niger Delta militants threaten government over Tompolo

Niger Delta militants have threatened the government they will chase away all oil companies from the region if the raid on Tompolo’s community doesn’t stop.

The leader of Niger Delta Peoples Democratic Front, ‘General’ Playboy said in a statement on Saturday after operatives of the Joint Task Force code-named, Operation Delta Safe reportedly raided Tompolo’s hometown.

Oporoza, the hometown of popular militant, Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, was reportedly raided for the second time in two weeks by JTF on Saturday.

Playboy expressed his displeasure that the militant commander’s house could still be raided despite an ongoing peace talk between elders and stakeholders of the Niger Delta and President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said, “If it is true that his (Tompolo) house was raided, then President Buhari must stop it. If he does not stop, what we will do is to chase away oil companies in our land. We cannot be feeding Nigeria and at the same time be humiliated by Nigeria.”

In his statement, Playboy also threatened to lead an attack on three central mosques if the government does not desist from witch-hunting their former front-man.
