Governor Wike supervises evacuation of corpse as convoy bumps into accident scene
The convoy of Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike bumped into an accident scene where the corpse of a motorcyclist who was crushed to death by a hit-and-run truck littered the road.
Unable to move past the scene, he’s reported to have alighted to supervise the evacuation of the corpse.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the victim who is a commercial motorcycle rider was knocked down at Igwuruta junction along the Airport Road by a reckless truck driver.
The unidentified man is said to have died on the spot, and once Wike ascertained what happened, he ordered medical personnel in his convoy to move the body into a mortuary.
After the evacuation, traffic flow was normalized in the area before the governor continued his journey.
