Wife of Detained Binance Executive Pleads For Husband’s Release
The wife of the detained Binance Executive, Tigran Gambaryan, has called for the Federal Government on grounds of poor health.
She made her wishes known in a statement released on Monday.
According to Gambaryan’s spokesperson, Monique Thompson, the Binance Chief requires urgent surgery on his herniated disc.
Recall that Gambaryan collapsed in court on May 23, 2024, due to a reported bad health condition.
She lamented that, despite this, the urgent medical care due her husband had still not been availed to him.
Legal Counsel to Gambaryan, Mark Mordi, noted that the prison officials had withheld the medical records of their client, in violation of an earlier July 5th court order.
Mordi warned that his client’s continuous stay in Kuje prison was risky to his health.
The wife, Yuki, noted that counsel to the detained had been denied access to her husband which is against his constitutional rights.
“My husband, Tigran, left our home for a work trip almost six months ago, and I have no idea when he will be back. Now his health is in a shockingly bad condition and getting worse by the day.
“The herniated disc in his back has worsened to the point where it might leave permanent damage and affect his ability to walk.
“My once fit and healthy husband, who loves working out, is now wheelchair-bound due to a treatable condition that has not been properly addressed.
“He needs highly specialised and risky surgery, it is terrifying. Additionally, an ENT doctor examined him last week and determined he also needs surgery to remove his tonsils due to the recurring infections he is suffering in detention,” Yuki stated.
Binance has been accused of not paying taxes in Nigeria and operating without regulatory oversight or cybercrime safety regulations.
In reaction, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, asserted that the detained was receiving all the necessary medical aid he needed from the government of his home country.
