VIDEO: Man makes Facebook users watch as he takes own life

Abandoned by his wife, a man used Facebook Live to broadcast his suicide to the world in real time.

Charoen Chimphuk was found dead inside an apartment in Soi Phaholyothin, Bangkok, the morning after streaming his suicide live. The video lasted for about 30 minutes.

*Police said they are treating the case as a suicide.*

The wife of the victim, Sangrawee Omdee told police she rushed to the residence after seeing the 30-year-old preparing to hang himself through the live broadcast streamed via his personal account on 11:46pm on Monday.

“I have nothing left,” the man, who appeared calm, said while going through a 19-minute preparation for his suicide.

Sangrawee told police she lived with Charoen for five years. The two have a 3-year-old daughter. She recently found out he was having an affair with another woman, so she left him.

Police said they are treating the case as a suicide.
