UPDATE: 2-year-old, 24 others killed; 32 injured in Kaduna bombing

The death toll in the suicide bombing that rocked Kaduna State, Tuesday, has risen to 25.
The figure of the attack which took place at a government lodge in Zaria was initially put at 20.
A two-year-old baby is among the victims of the blast which was carried out by a suicide bomber.
Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i gave the update in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.
“I am sad to confirm that an IED most likely carried by a suicide bomber exploded in the Sabon Gari LG and killed 25 people including a two year old,” he said.
“Thirty-two people are injured and on admission at the ABUTH, Zaria.”
“The secretariat was crowded today because the newly appointed LG chairman was taking over and some LG staff from Lere and Ikara LGs were undergoing biometric verification.”
“I just left the scenes of the explosion and the hospital. May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.”
