Two suspects arraigned for allegedly killing pregnant woman in Osun
A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting at Osogbo has overseen the arraignment of two individuals accused of killing a pregnant woman in Osun.
Fatai Adegoke and Khadijah Adeleke allegedly attacked one Risikat Adegoke on Saturday, October 27, 2018, over a minor misunderstanding.
The victim reportedly died a few weeks after the incident. According to the case file, Risikat is reported to have been seven months pregnant by the time she died on November 15, 2018.
The suspects pleaded not guilty to the charge, while the court stated that they contravened the law by denying the victim her right to life and delivery of her baby.
Magistrate M. A. Awodele who presided over the case overruled the suspects’ plea and asked that the case be transfered to the Federal High Court where they can be prosecuted to the fulfillment of the law.
The case was adjourned to February 10, 2019.
