Two kids, eight others killed in Oyo road crash
Two female children were among the ten people killed in an accident along the Ibadan-Oyo road on Saturday.
The accident, involving a Toyota Hiace bus headed to Ilorin from Sango-Ota in Ogun state,occurred at Itose village in the evening.
Four men and four women made up the list of killed victims while nine others, also including two children sustained injuries.
According to an eyewitness, the bus driver lost control of the bus after he suddenly ran into a pothole in the middle of the road.
The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Oyo State, Oluwaseun Onijala, confirmed the incident.
He said those injured in the accident were rescued and rushed to hospital for immediate treatment.
“The bus had 19 passengers on board. Ten persons died while nine other passengers sustained injuries.
“The injured victims were taken to the Akinlolu Hospital and St. Patrick’s Hospital where they are receiving treatment.
“The remains of the dead passengers were deposited at the Adeoyo State Hospital morgue in Ibadan,” he added.
