In a statement seen by Neusroom, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s special adviser on information and strategy, announced that President Tinubu has “rescheduled the Federal Executive Council meeting for a later date.”

The President has also directed that flags be flown at half-staff across Nigeria for the next week to honour the late army chief.

The FEC meeting, initially set for today, was postponed in recognition of Lagbaja’s contributions to the nation.

On October 30, Tinubu appointed Olufemi Oluyede as the acting COAS and the president decorated Oluyede with a new rank of lieutenant-general at the Aso Villa just yesterday.
