Tinubu nominates Kingsley Udeh, Enugu attorney-general, as minister

President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to confirm Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and the current Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Enugu State, as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The president’s request was conveyed in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary session.
“I am pleased to forward to the Senate the nomination of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, for confirmation as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Tinubu stated in the letter.

The president expressed confidence that the Senate would treat the nomination with its usual urgency and cooperation. “While I hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, Mr. Senate President and distinguished senators, the assurances of my highest regards,” the letter added.

Following the reading of the letter, Senate President Akpabio referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for immediate consideration.
