Three children burn to death in mother’s container-shop in Anambra

A mother lost her three children to the cold hands of death in Ugwuagba-Obosi area of Anambra State on Thursday.

The children, aged three, four and five, were burnt to death after fire ravaged their mother’s container-shop in the powerline area. The mother was away from the shop when the incident occurred.

State police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, said the cause of the fire was not known.

“Two short containers used as a shop and a residence along the High Tension School Road, Ugwuagba-Obosi, in the Idemili North Local Government of Anambra State, were gutted by fire,” Mohammed said.

“A police patrol team attached to the Awada Division led by the DPO, CSP Tony Adeyi, rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and removed the charred remains of the victims to the Bex Hospital’s mortuary for autopsy after they were certified dead by a medical doctor.”
