Jigawa State Polytechnic students have reportedly resorted to sleeping in the school mosque after hostel fee was hiked from N3,000 to N5,000.
Kenyans are showing support for the gesture.
No deaths were recorded, the state emergency management body said.
Over 200 houses lost their roof to the thunderstorm.
