Sunday Night Tragedy: Car runs into truck, kills 6, injures 3
Six people died on the spot when a car ran into a truck going in the opposite direction on Sunday night.
The crash occurred on N2 South at the Umkomaas off-ramp in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
“The car with six people was travelling towards Durban when they veered across the centre median and hit head on into a heavy goods truck that was pulling two trailers,” Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha told News24 South Africa.
“Paramedics and the fire department arrived at the scene and found that the crumpled remains of the car had come to rest in the break down lane of the south bound about 50m from the cab of the truck with the occupants still trapped in the twisted metal.”
The six dead people were riding in the car. The injured three were in the truck as at the time of the accident. They have been taken to a local hospital..
