Student, 20, in court for cutting friend’s eye in Lagos nightclub

Loveth Augustine, a student who resides at 6, Adebisi St., Egbeda, suburb of Lagos, was arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court today.

The 20-year-old was arraigned for assault after a fight that ensued between her and the complainant, Motunrayo Fatai.

According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Raji Akeem, the offence was committed on Feb. 20, at Royale Club, Oba Akran, Ikeja.

Akeem revealed that the fight ensued between the accused and the complainant, Motunrayo Fatai, at the nightclub at 1:00 am.

“The accused beat her and used razor blade to cut the upper part of her right eyes which caused her deep cut on the place.

“She was rushed to the hospital and was treated,” he added.

Motunrayo said she was not guilty of the charge.

She was granted bail in the sum of N20,000 with two sureties.

Motunrayo will face the court again on March 28.
