Simon Ekpa: Finnish Court Fixes May 2025 for Trial of pro-Biafra activist
The trial of pro-Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, has been fixed for May 2025 by a Finnish district court.
Recall that Ekpa was arrested by Police in Finland last Thursday.
The agitator is accused of spreading separatist propaganda via social media.
The crime for which Ekpa was arrested is said to have been committed in Lahti municipality in 2021.
Ekpa is also accused of using social media to spark terrorism and violence in the South-East of Nigeria.

According to the senior detective superintendent at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Finland, Ekpa’s online activities are being investigated.
Laaksonen points out that, should Finnish authorities or Ekpa seek re-evaluation from the court, the next hearing on the remand can be held two weeks from now.
“Due to the ongoing investigation, no further details can be disclosed.
“The date for bringing up possible charges by the prosecution was set by the district court to May 2025.
“In a basic situation regarding the remand, the next possible hearing can be held no earlier than two weeks from the previous hearing, should the parties in question seek for the matter to be re-evaluated by the district court,” the superintendent stated.
