Selena Gomez Admits Avoiding Pregnancy Due To Medical Condition
Music star, Selena Gomez, has explained that the reason she cannot bear children is traced to her medical issues.
The Singer opened up on her health troubles in a chat with magazine, Vanity Fair.
She revealed that getting pregnant will pose significant risks to both herself and the baby.
“I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.
“I have a lot of medical issues that would put both my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while,” the Singer disclosed.
Gomez revealed that she has attempted correcting this, even going under the knife in 2017.
The Singer even underwent a kidney transplant related to lupus years ago.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system becomes overactive and attacks normal tissue.

While the disease is incurable, the help of medications can help manage its symptoms.
“It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen like it does for everyone else. I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.
“It made me really thankful for the other options available for people who are eager to become parents. I’m one of those people.
“I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll be a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby,” Gomez said.
