Sam Altman Never Sexually Abused Sister – Family Refutes Claims in Joint Statement
A joint statement from the family of Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has unequivocally refuted allegations made by his sister, Annie, that he sexually abused her. The statement, signed by Altman and his siblings, expressed deep concern over Annie’s mental health struggles and described the claims as “entirely untrue.”
“Our family loves Annie and is very concerned about her well-being. Caring for a family member who faces mental health challenges is incredibly difficult. We know many families facing similar struggles understand this well,” the statement began, shedding light on the complexity of the situation.
According to the family, they have provided significant support to Annie over the years.
“To give a sense of our efforts, we have given her monthly financial support, directly paid her bills, covered her rent, helped her find employment opportunities, attempted to get her medical help, and have offered to buy her a house through a trust (so that she would have a secure place to live, but not be able to sell it immediately).”

The statement added that Annie also receives financial support through their late father’s estate, which is expected to continue indefinitely.
Despite these efforts, Annie has made what the family described as “deeply hurtful” accusations, including claims of financial misconduct and hacking.
“She has accused members of our family of improperly withholding our father’s 401k funds, hacking her WiFi, and ‘shadowbanning’ her from various websites including ChatGPT, Twitter, and more,” they said.
The most serious allegation, however, is the claim of sexual abuse by Sam Altman, both during childhood and adulthood.
“These claims have evolved drastically over time,” the family noted, adding that the allegations have caused immense pain.
“This situation causes immense pain to our entire family. It is especially gut-wrenching when she refuses conventional treatment and lashes out at family members who are genuinely trying to help.”
The statement emphasized their ongoing commitment to Annie, while also addressing the toll the situation has taken.
“We ask for understanding and compassion from everyone as we continue to support Annie in the best way we can. We sincerely hope she finds the stability and peace she’s been searching for.”
