Rivers LG Election: Voting commences in Emohua LGA
In spite of the defiance by Rivers state Governor, Similanayi Fubara. It has been reported according to PUNCH that voting has commenced in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Although no security official was sighted on ground as per directive from the federal high court in Abuja, the voting commenced when the electoral officers arrived at 8:30 am.
Reports emanating suggests that the poll process has been peaceful and void of any hitch.
This was relayed by the Councillorship Candidate of the Action Peoples Party, APP, Omenihu Jackson after casting his vote at unit 3.
He expressed, “The election has been peaceful. People are conducting themselves well and the process is going on well”.
Another person who was positive on the credibility of the process was the ward leader, Collins. Amesi. He said that without police presence, the polls has been orderly.
In his words, he said “You can see that the election is going on well without police. We commend RSIEC for conducting this peaceful process”.
