Professor, 4 others killed as twin blasts hit University of Maiduguri
Two bomb explosions rocked the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Borno State on Monday morning.
Five persons, including a professor, were reportedly killed by the blasts.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed the unfortunate attack but stopped short of releasing official death toll at this time.
“A bomb exploded at the mosque of the University of Maiduguri, during early morning prayers,” NEMA tweeted.
“Bomb blast occurred at UNIMAID junior staff mosque near Gate 1. Second explosion near Gate 5 of the university premises.”

“Rescue operations ongoing,” the agency said.
The attack is being blamed on terrorist sect Boko Haram which is notorious for attacking academic institutions as well as military and para-military barracks.
