Prevent Fayose from running away – EFCC tells Customs
The EFCC has requested that the Nigeria Customs Service place Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose on a watchlist and prevent him from leaving the country over corruption allegations.
The anti graft agency is investigating Fayose for alleged abuse of office, and money laundering.
Fayose, in response to the allegations, had written to the commission that he would make himself available for questioning when his immunity expires in October.
EFCC in a letter to NCS and signed by its acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu, said: “There is a reasonable suspicion suggesting that he may likely leave the country either through the land borders, airports or seaports in order to evade investigation.
“Hence, you are kindly requested to watch-list him and arrest him.”

The outgoing governor called EFCC’s statement “petty” in a tweet on Sunday.
“EFCC putting my name on watch list after notification of my coming is not only political but petty,” Fayose said.
“I’m not among those who are afraid to face tomorrow. Nobody is God. They should expect me on October 16, 2018. I will remain in PDP not minding their intimidation.”
Fayose will vacate the governorship seat for Kayode Fayemi on October 16.
