Tinubu Set to Address Nigeria

Nigeria President, Bola Tinubu, will mark the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 with a nationwide broadcast at 7.00 am same day.

The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made this disclosure in a statement released on Monday, September 30.

Onanuga, via his X handle, explained that the speech will usher in the country’s Independence day.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will make a nationwide broadcast on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 7 a.m.

“The broadcast is part of activities to commemorate the 64th Independence Anniversary of the nation.

“Television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria for the broadcast,” the statemnt read.

Many Nigerians wonder if the speech is aimed to squash the proposed protests planned for that day.

Weeks back, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, was made informed of the October 1 protests and an appeal to provide adequate secuirty for participants of the protests against hardship in Nigeria.
