Police place N5m bounty on Ikorodu bank robbers

The police have said anyone who supplied useful information leading to the arrest of the armed gang that robbed banks in Ikorodu, Wednesday, will receive a N5 million reward.
“The command will reward anybody with useful information towards the arrest of the bank robbers with N5m,” Police spokesperson DSP Kenneth Nwosu said.
Ikorodu residents are livid the force was unable to protect citizens, and the two invaded banks, from the reportedly over-confident and well-armed robbers.
Witnesses recounted how policemen fled their station opposite one of the affected banks, and took cover behind a secondary school in the area while the operation lasted.
One of them said the group was led by a lady who appeared not older than 20.
Fortunately, no one was killed during the operation. Reports, however, say about four people were injured – two of them hit by stray bullets.
A bank official said over N80 million was stolen from Zenith Bank, one of the firms affect. It is still not clear how much was taken from the other one, First Bank.
What is clear is that the men of the force are now talking tough.
If you know where the robbers are hiding, please alert the authorities. A whooping N5 million awaits..
