Police find lifeless body of 70-year-old pastor hanging from ceiling fan

A 70-year-old pastor has apparently committed suicide, police say.
The man was found “with a rope tied to his neck hanging to the ceiling fan in his room,” the police said in a statement on Tuesday.
Police declined identifying the deceased.
“Police detectives moved to the scene where the body was removed and taken to the hospital,” the police said.
“Doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Corpse has been deposited at the General Hospital morgue Ijebu-Ode for autopsy.”
The incident happened around 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the deceased residence located at 10 Owakurudu Street, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
Police investigators in Abeokuta said they have launched a probe into the incident.
