Hurray! Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, who won the Nobel Peace Prize last year, turned 18 on Sunday.

…and she celebrated the landmark in a most befitting fashion – by inaugurating a new school for teenage Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The teenage Nobel Peace Prize winner is also an advocate for the rescue of Nigerian schoolgirls Boko Haram kidnapped last year.

Malala is on Twitter as @malala. Despite the fact that she is yet to tweet, because she hadn’t turned 18 before now, the handle has over 45,000 followers.

The school will provide education for more than 200 Syrian refugees ages 14 to 18, according to the Malala Fund. It will allow students to earn baccalaureate and vocational skills through the Lebanese Education Ministry, part of a campaign to encourage the world to invest $39 billion in education.
