How pastors deceive gullible followers, commit heinous crimes under God’s name

State Police Command across the country have arrested more than 100 pastors in the country this year over diverse criminal cases.

Findings showed that many fake clergymen capitalise on the gullibility of some of their members, particularly women, most of whom are experiencing delay in childbirth, to commit crime in the church.

Below are some of the current criminal cases perpetrated by some anointed “men of God.”

Controversial story of a pastor who raped 10-year-old:

Senior Pastor of the Chosen One To Rule Ministry, Asaba, Delta State, Chinonso Udemezue, was recently accused of raping a 10-year-old boy.

Udemezue  blamed “Yahoo boys” for his travails, insisting that his enemies were out to tarnish his image.

“It is fake news. ‘Yahoo-boys’ in the neighbourhood are the ones trying to set me up,” he said.

Pastor who duped woman claims “She’s my girlfriend”:

Men of Ogun State Police Command recently arrested one Ayo Oseni, for allegedly raping his Church member identified as Grace.

Oseni said he is a Senior Pastor with a church in Abuja. The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, while parading the suspect, said the pastor had carnal knowledge of his Church member and reportedly duped her of a Lexus 300 vehicle.

“She’s my girlfriend, the car’s a gift,” Oseni claimed.

Pastor, six others arrested with human parts in Cross River:

The General Overseer and founder of the Royal God’s Commandment Ministry, No 3 Okon Edak Street, off Atamunu, in Calabar South local government area of Cross River State, Rev. Tony Obo and some of his members were arrested by the Police in Calabar.

Rev Obo, suspected to be ritualist, was arrested along side six of his members on Thursday. The Church had been demolished and some of the properties set on ablaze.

Pastor, sister arrested over human trafficking:

Recently, Edo State Police command arrested a Pastor attached to one of the Pentecostal churches in Benin, Pastor Endurance Ehioze, and his sister, for their alleged involvement in the trafficking of girls to Russia.

Kidnapping:

In Delta state, a man named Paul who was described by the police as mentally ill has been apprehended for the abduction and subsequent rape of a 21-year-old woman identified as Esther, who was attending a night vigil.

According to reports,the incident which occurred in Ibusa located in the state capital, Asaba, saw the suspect hold the victim against her will.

She was reportedly locked up in his shop until she was rescued on Thursday, January 18, 2018.

Though some of the victims of these condemnable pastors have had their day in court, there are still many of these pastors out there committing all these atrocities in the name of the Lord.
