Pastor with healing powers sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for raping 8 members
Manmin Central Church in Seoul, South Korea has been thrown into a state of shock over the conviction of its pastor who was accused of raping 8 members of the Church for more than 40 different times.
Pastor Lee Jae Rock, who founded the mega-church in 1982 is said to have taken advantage of people’s trust in him as a man of God to sexually abuse them.
After being found guilty of the acts, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced him to 15 years in prison for rape.
The 75-year old cleric who referred to himself as ‘God’ was expelled from the Christian Council of Korea in 1999 over his bizarre claims which was alluded as heresy by the organization. Reports indicate that he has always been controversial.
Jae Rock also prided himself as having healing powers and can heal all kinds of incurable diseases like AIDS and cancer. These claims have brought a lot of vulnerable people to his church who were in need of his help.
He will consequently be relieved of his duty as the pastor of the 130,000-member church as he serves his prison term.
