Pastor Adeboye reportedly bans Pasuma from RCCG crusades, suspends pastor, committee that invited him
As long as Pastor Enoch Adeboye remains the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), top Fuji artiste Wasiu Alabi Pasuma will never be allowed to perform at any of the church’s event.
Well, that could change if “Paso” as Pasuma is also called becomes “born again” and start singing “Gospel Fuji.”
Paso was yet to give his life to Jesus Christ (and we’re not sure, as at the time of filing this report, he’s made that decision) when an RCCG pastor and his crusade-planning committee invited him to perform at a church crusade.
An RCCG church in Lagos Island organized a three-day outdoor crusade aimed at attracting the kind of people who love Pasuma’s music to God. So they thought the presence of the Fuji star at the crusade will be productive.
The “Christian” public, which has scolded RCCG since the programme was announced, apparently thought otherwise.
So did RCCG highest-ranking pastor Adeboye who has now allegedly banned Pasuma from touching anything RCCG until he gives his life to Christ.
The parish pastor and the planning committee that brought Pasuma in have also been suspended, reports say. The suspended individuals will be handed other punishments for “bringing the name of RCCG into public disgrace,” reports say.
We do not know how much the church offered to pay Pasuma.
Whoever is in charge of the number on the programme flyer did not respond to calls our correspondent directed to that line.
The number was later switched off…probably to discourage reporters from asking questions.
We have been trying the number “since morning.” “Sorry, the *** number you dialed is switched off,” is all we have been getting.
In the meantime, the particular RCCG Lagos Province 20 outdoor crusade will no longer hold, we are made to understand.
Perhaps the pastor should have invited Korede “Godwin” Bello instead.
Although Korede’s performance at HICC generated mixed reactions from the Nigerian public, at least the show was allowed to hold.
Korede even said in an exclusive interview with NET he would “perform in church again if I am invited.”
Will Pasuma accept to play in RCCG again?
Well, maybe he would…if he gets “born again.”
