Paris Olympics 2024: A Glimpse into the Historic Opening Ceremony
After vandals carried out arson attacks on France’s high-speed train network just hours before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024, the games kicked off with a beautiful and memorable ceremony.
The ceremony, which began on the evening of Friday, July 26, 2024, marked the start of the 128th Olympics competition since the event debuted in ancient Greece.
American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga was the first to kickstart the ceremony with an electrifying pre-recorded performance.
Wearing a dazzling all-black outfit adorned with feathers, the superstar mesmerized hundreds of thousands with her performance.

Another stunning show followed when 80 artists from the Moulin Rouge performed the iconic dance that dates back to the 1820s.

The official procession of the 2024 Olympic Games began with the first group of athletes arriving by boat down the River Seine.
In keeping with Olympic tradition, the Greek delegation took the lead, proudly heading the parade of nations as a tribute to the country’s revered status as the birthplace of the Olympic Games and its pioneering role as the host of the first modern Olympics in 1896.
