Over 500 homeless as Lagos demolish Ikeja community after deadly mudslide

Kuata, a shanti community in Mechanic Village, Agidingbi, Ikeja area of Lagos is no more.

The state ministry of environment demolished the “illegal” dwelling place, Tuesday, after a woman was killed in a mudslide.

A woman died in the tragedy. Two other people were rescued.

The demolition came few hours after state commissioner for the environment Babatunde Adejare and other government officials visited the scene.

“The commissioner led the demolition team,” a resident told NewsroomNG.
