OPINION: Chibok girls and why Garba Shehu is the most confused man in Aso Rock
Trust me. Presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu is a confused man.
“It is time to put to rest the falsehood that parents of the 24 Chibok Girls who returned earlier are not allowed to see them,” Shehu said in a series of tweets on Thursday night.
Reports had quoted unnamed parents of the 24 Chibok girls freed last year saying the ladies were prevented from seeing their families.
After calling the allegations “false”, Shehu then said the girls were actually prevented from seeing their parents!
They were due to go during Easter but security advice was against that.

“Eighteen of the parents left Abuja on Friday, May 5 after spending three days with their daughters. This can be verified,” he said.
“Another set will also come once arrangements for them are put in place,” he added.
Oh…so the girls are in Abuja…NOT AT HOME? I see.
And why? Security reasons. The same reason Lai Mohammed will not tell us how much public money is being spent on President Buhari’s health.
“It will be immoral to reveal such information,” the information and culture minister said.
Never believe anything until it has been officially denied.

Shehu and Mohammed are either confused or are being economical with facts…perhaps.
President Buhari promised to returned the girls to their parents. Until that happens, his media aides may want to shuuuuuuuuuush it!
