Ondo SDP deputy governorship candidate defects to APC, Aiyedatiwa excited
Mrs. Susan Gbemisola Alabi, a former Social Democratic Party (SDP) deputy governorship candidate in Ondo State, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alabi attributed her recent resignation from the SDP to irreconcilable differences with the party’s governorship candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye.
Ondo State Governor and APC candidate in the November 26 contest, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, welcomed the decampee into the ruling party during his campaign tour of Akoko North West Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event, Aiyedatiwa reiterated his pledge that the 2025 budget would prioritise development across all parts of the South-West State, ensuring no region is neglected.
“The 2025 budget will be well-structured to guarantee that every area of Ondo State benefits from development initiatives,” the Governor said.
He added that improvements in infrastructure and services would soon reach the Akoko North West area.

Aiyedatiwa seeks support ahead of Ondo election
Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the local monarchs for the support during the APC primaries and their renewed endorsement ahead of the all-important election.
The Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Olasehinde Ojo Adetona, who spoke of behalf of 27 traditional rulers in the area, pledged their unwavering support, assuring the Governor of strong turnout for the ruling party due to trust in his leadership.
Addressing supporters in Oke Irun, Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of their unity and active participation in ensuring victory for the party in the upcoming election.
He highlighted that his campaign journey through major areas in the local government was intentional, enabling him to obtain firsthand understanding of the challenges in those communities
“By personally visiting these communities, I can see their needs directly, allowing me to respond quickly and ensure that no issue affecting your communities is overlooked,” Aiyedatiwa stated.
The Governor further assured residents that all the concerns raised during the tour would be addressed in future planning to enhance the quality of life across the state.
