Ododo Delivers Yahaya Bello to EFCC
Former Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has finally been arrested by men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The arrest was confirmed by EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale.
This comes after Kogi Governor, Usman Ododo, accompanied Bello to Abuja on Tuesday morning and invited EFCC to arrest the latter.
“We have arrested him. Our chief security officer arrested him and he was brought in by 12:54 pm. He is having a session with our investigators. We are holding him in our custody,” Oyewale said.
Bello is facing allegations of money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of N80.2 billion.
Bello had honoured the invitation of the EFCC, in September, only to turn up in the company of Ododo.
The EFCC explained that the immunity covering Ododo extended to Bello hence their inability to arrest the latter.
