NNPC Reports 79% Drop in July Profit to ₦185 Billion

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reported a profit after tax of ₦185 billion for July 2025, marking a significant decline of nearly 80 percent from the ₦905 billion recorded in June. The sharp drop, according to the company’s latest ‘Monthly Report Summary,’ is attributed to cost of sales and income tax adjustments.

In the same period, the company recorded total groupwide revenue of ₦4.406 trillion, a 3.59 percent decrease from the ₦4.57 trillion generated in June. This figure includes revenues from intercompany transactions across the NNPC group.

Despite the financial dip, the company maintained steady oil and gas production levels. Crude oil and condensate output averaged 1.7 million barrels per day (bpd) in July, while natural gas production stood at 7.72 million standard cubic feet per day (mscfd). NNPC said it is focused on sustaining production, improving uptime of its facilities, and enhancing operational efficiency through continued stakeholder collaboration.

NNPC also reported progress on key infrastructure projects. It confirmed that additional subcontractors have been deployed to accelerate the completion of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline. For the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline, the company has implemented a revised execution strategy to fast-track completion of the River Niger crossing. So far, a 113-kilometre portion of the pipeline has been commissioned and is currently delivering about 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of gas from two producers.
