Nigerians are boiling with rage over the Senate’s insistence on gagging social media in the country.
Barely a week after the reenactment of the bill that seeks the death penalty for social media offenders was upheld in the Senate, another anti-social media bill is being pursued by the Upper Chamber.
The new bill which has passed the second reading will give the Police the right to force internet service providers (ISPs), to block access to social media platforms in an area where false information is being disseminated.
