Nigerian school reopen as Boko Haram attack “wanes”
The long wait for the reopening of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi is over.
The school was forced to close eight months ago after Boko Haram insurgents took an unholy interest in it.
Students of the Adamawa based tertiary institution must be feeling great relief now as they resume lectures today.
Multiple sources told Newsroom authorities felt the waning power of Boko Haram proved it was time to reopen the school.
“Arrangements have been put in place for students who have been returning to commence lectures on Monday,” the school’s Director of Information and Protocol, Mr Philip Ndalamu, told government-run NAN.
While the polytechnic students restart after terror-induced hiatus which began last October, undergraduates of Adamawa State University also located in the state are not sure when they will get the green light.
The bomb-ravaged infrastructure of the varsity is still under repair.
We’re happy for students of the Federal Polytechnic, and we hope they stay safe..
