Nigerian happy as Boko Haram terrorists fight each other
Is this the end of Boko Haram?
Nigeria’s military has killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists in the past one year thereby reducing the group’s ability to attack Nigerians.
It seems things just got worse for the blood sucking terrorists. Reports say rival Boko Haram factions are now fighting each other over a leadership tussle.
ISIS appointed Abu Musab al-Barnawi, the son of Boko Haram’s founder Mohammed Yusuf, new Boko Haram leader. Former leader Abubakar Shekau, who keeps “resurrecting” despite being “killed” by Nigerian soldiers on several occasions is not happy with the move.
Shekau reportedly insisted he’s the “real” Boko Haram boss. His loyalists and those of al-Barnawi, according to sources who spoke to AFP, are reportedly engaged in an infighting that could turn bloody.
According to AFP:
Last Thursday, several fighters from Shekau’s camp were said to have been killed in two separate gun battles with IS-backed Barnawi gunmen in the Monguno area of Borno state near Lake Chad. Nigeria’s military declined to comment on the reported in-fighting when contacted by AFP.
“I’m happy Boko Haram has become like this,” Usman Abu, a Borno farmer who relocated to Lagos after the terrorists destroyed his home said.
“This may be the end of the people of destroyed everything I had. It is judgement day for them. They must fight and destroy themselves.”
Abu said he’s sure most Nigerians would be happy to hear of the news. We hope the abducted Chibok girls are not caught in the crossfire.
