Nigerian billionaire industrialist Oscar Ibru dies at 67
Olorogun Oscar Ibru, billionaire businessman and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, has died at the age of 67.
His family confirmed his passing after a brief illness, but has yet to provide further details.
Oscar Ibru, one of the most prominent heirs of the Ibru dynasty, was a central figure in Nigeria’s corporate landscape. He sustained and expanded the family conglomerate founded by his late father, Olorogun Michael Ibru, with interests in shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce.
Widely regarded as a visionary businessman, he not only upheld the Ibru Organisation’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading corporate brands but also championed philanthropic and cultural causes.
His death comes nine years after the passing of the family patriarch, Michael Ibru, in 2016.
